This project was something we took on over a year ago, and boy was it fun to see this vehicle that sat for ten or more years transform into the beauty that it is today. As I stated this vehicle sat for quite some time so it needed a full restoration. Before we started this car had absolutely no modifications done. To start off, the stock wheels and tires had to go, since this was a high performance engine build we figured the wheels had to match that standard. For wheels we went with 18 inch AdvanRacing GT wrapped in Bridgestone RE760 tires. At Velocity Factor, we always recommend a good set of coilovers for performance builds, in this case we went with TEIN FLEX Coilovers. We installed a STOPTECH Trophy Big Brake Kit in the front so stopping this beast would never be an issue. We flushed all the brake lines with MOTUL brake fluid. Everything used on this build are top of the line products that we have used many times. Check out some pictures below to see how the exterior of the vehicle turned out!
We wanted the motor on this vehicle to be extremely reliable and capable of being a daily driver for years to come. With this in mind we sent out a lot of the key components to the top performance companies around the country. Buschur Racing built us a custom short block from a 1st generation eclipse, stuffed with forged pistons. The head was sent out to HEAD GAMES MOTORWORKS in Trenton, NJ for port and polish. Our friends over at Fuel Injector Clinic made us a set of 1650CC fuel injectors to fuel the engine. Kelford Cams sent us a brand new camshaft for this build as well. When it came to the transmission and transfer case, they were custom built by the expert staff over at ShepTrans. Magnus Motorsports made us a custom handmade intake manifold and throttle body for this project. On all our high performance builds we use Blitz filters for better air flow. For the turbo we chose the BorgWarner EFR 7670 from the guys over at FULL RACE. The fuel pump has a fuel pump holder from FULL BLOWN MOTORSPORTS. This motor was put back together using the highest quality components and fittings. Check out some of the pictures below to see some different stages of the build as well as the finished product!
When it came to the interior of the car, our goal was to make this somewhat older vehicle up to date. To achieve this we added a nice Pioneer touch screen head unit with Bluetooth so the owner could connect his phone to the stereo system. Speaking of stereo systems, we added all new Alpine speakers and subwoofers. In the trunk we had a custom enclosure made for the subwoofers and amp. We added custom gauges to the cabin for boost, oil, and air/fuel ratio.
